Hello, Lucid fans! I am delighted to welcome Eric Jackson as my guest on this week’s Lucid Driver podcast.
Eric and his wife are retired and living in Estero, Florida. Eric told me, “Following a fulfilling career as a studio musician in Los Angeles, I embarked on a new chapter at the age of 40 by pursuing an undergraduate degree in chemical engineering. This transition from my professional focus on efficiency to a personal passion for sustainability and energy independence has been fulfilling. Today, my home and vehicles are powered entirely by a self-sustained energy source, harnessing the power of solar energy, heat pumps, and advanced battery storage. While I once dedicated decades to studying molecular bonds, instead of filling my tank with gasoline, I fill it with gallons of light from the sun. As a committed environmentalist, I take pride in living a life that aligns with the future of clean energy. I was interested in electric vehicles back in 2010 when I heard about Tesla. I purchased my first Tesla in 2013 and my second one in 2017. In 2025, I traded my Tesla in for a 2025 Lucid Grand Touring Air. I loved this car. I loved the range, the safety features, and the breathtaking acceleration. I decided to purchase a Gravity for a number of reasons. My air lease is over in September. We plan to do a lot of traveling from Estero to Austin, Texas, to see our son, daughter-in-law, and 1-year-old grandson. We love the flexibility of the charging, enormous storage, and more safety features. Despite lacking the acceleration of the air, the Gravity remains an impressive vehicle.”
